Richard C. Wuestling is the senior partner in the firm. He is a member of the Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Legal Malpractice Defense and Personal Injury Defense. Rick has tried over 60 jury trials to conclusion and is attorney of record in 26 appeals. Rick obtained recognition by his peers early in his career when he was rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell after ten (10) years of practice.
He leads the firm’s practice in legal malpractice defense, insurance coverage questions, extra-contractual liability, personal injury defense, and construction and design liability. He practices in all federal and state courts in Missouri, the Eight Circuit Court of Appeals and is enrolled to appear before the United States Supreme Court. Rick has also represented clients in several arbitrations held under the auspices of the American Arbitration Association and other arbitration bodies.
Rick is often a presenter at CLE seminars on the subject of ethics. Lawyers and law firms seek his advice and direction on ethics issues. Rick is also retained by lawyers to represent them in bar complaint matters.
He is a member of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys, the A.B.A. and the A.B.A. Lawyers' Professional Liability Consortium, DRI and the DRI Trucking Law Committee, the Lawyer's Association of St. Louis and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
In December, 2009 Rick was elected by Missouri lawyers who reside in St. Louis County, Missouri to serve a six year term on the Twenty-First Judicial Commission. The Commission provides the Governor with a panel of three candidates to fill vacancies on the bench of the Circuit Court of St. Louis County. The Commission is composed of two elected attorneys, the Chief Judge of the Missouri Courts of Appeals Eastern District, and two lay people who are appointed by the governor. His term will run from January of 2010 until December of 2016.
